The effect of epidural analgesia on the success of vaginal
breech birth is unclear, but it is likely to increase the risk of intervention.
A Cochrane metaanalysis  concluded that epidural anaesthesia increases the risk of assisted vaginal delivery.
As vaginal breech delivery cannot be expedited until its final stages ( Oxytocin augmentation is seldom recommended) and successful vaginal delivery depends on the mother's ability to bear down- so , epidural analgesia might increase the risk of caesarean section.
